Sunday V.I.P. Class
Recognizing the unique needs of families with a special needs child, we offer a class for special needs children during the 9:00 a.m. service. This allows parents and other family members to attend that service. Each Sunday the class is staffed with a trained, experienced special needs worker who serves as lead teacher with other adults.
We ask that parents who are interested contact us first so that we can assess the situation and make sure we have adequate staffing. Contact Sarah Gray at firstname.lastname@example.org or 336-560-3967. Adults who are interested in serving in this ministry can also contact the Sarah Gray at the above number.
Monthly Respite Program
Once a month, West Market Street United Methodist Church offers Nathaniel’s Hope Buddy Break to the Greensboro community. Buddy Break is a free kids program where kids with special needs (VIP kids) make new friends, have fun playing games, hear and see great children’s stories, videos, music and more! Siblings have fun too! Meanwhile, their caregivers get a break from their ongoing care-giving responsibilities usually for three hours.
The next Buddy Break in Greensboro is just around the corner (see details below) and we need you to help. Wondering how you can help?
- If you are 14 years old or older, sign up to be a Buddy (contact Sarah Gray at 336-560-3967 or BuddyBreak@wmsumc.org for more information)
- If your family wants to serve together, volunteer to be in charge of a room – e.g., art room, music room, recreation room, quiet reading room, etc. (again, contact Sarah Gray at 336-560-3967 or BuddyBreak@wmsumc.org for more information)
- If your child would like to attend Buddy Break, make sure you call now to reserve a spot! (again, contact Sarah Gray at 336-560-3967 or BuddyBreak@wmsumc.org for more information)
- Spread the word!! Talk to anyone you know that might be interested in helping or in having their child(ren) attend Buddy Break and send them to this webpage!
