Flipped Week 1 // Middle School Small Groups // 5.8.16

Session Summary

Have you ever watched America's Got Talent? The judges decide the fate of the contestants with a tap on their buzzers. Maybe you worry that people (or even God) are waiting to judge you. But that's not what God is like. What if you believed you were loved, not judged? When people meet Jesus, their lives get flipped upside down, like the story of Zacchaeus. When we know we're loved by God, we start to change. God's not judging you or keep you at a distance. If you want to experience God's love like Zacchaeus did, you need to get closer to Him. Do you really believe God loves you? Or are you still waiting for Him to judge you? Be honest. God wants you to experience His love.

Bottom Line

Everything flips when you know you're loved.

So he [Zacchaeus] ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see him, since Jesus was coming that way. When Jesus came by, he looked up at Zacchaeus and called him by name. ‘Zacchaeus!’ he said. ‘Quick, come down! I must be a guest in your home today.’ All the people saw this and began to mutter, ‘He has gone to be the guest of a sinner.’” - Luke 19:4-8 (NIV)
