Step by Step: Middle School 4.17.16

Session Summary

Does anyone love getting bossed around? Yeah, me neither. It's frustrating to be told to do something we don't understand or can't explain. At some point, I bet God will ask all of us to do something we're not 100% sure about. Sometimes it's not easy to do what God says. God seems crazy sometimes. In Joshua 6, God gives Joshua a battle plan that's pretty out of the ordinary. God knows what He's doing. He can be trusted. Sometimes we need to keep walking to say, "I trust you." What is God asking you to do that seems a little crazy or just too hard? When you feel unsure, God can be trusted.

Bottom Line

When you feel unsure, God can be trusted.

Scripture

Then the Lord said to Joshua, "See, I have delivered Jericho into your hands, along with its king and its fighting men. March around the city once with all the armed men. Do this for six days. Have seven priests carry trumpets of rams' horns in front of the ark. On the seventh day, march around the city seven times, with the priests blowing the trumpets. When you hear them sound a long blast on the trumpets, have the whole army give a loud shout."...When the trumpets sounded, the army shouted, and at the sound of the trumpet, when the men gave a loud shout, the wall collapsed; so everyone charged straight in, and they took the city. - Joshua 6:2-5, 20 NIV
