A False Step: Middle School Small Groups 4.10.16

Session Summary

Have you ever failed at something? I mean epically failed? We all know what it's like to feel disappointed in ourselves. We feel incapable. We compare ourselves to others. But God made you just as you are. In Joshua 1, Joshua was given an impossible job, to take over for Moses. But Joshua believed God would be with him. God can accomplish big things through you. When you believe God is with you can begin to live full of strength and courage. God says, "I am with you. Be strong and courageous." We all have moments when we are disappointed in ourselves. But remember what God has promised, He is with you. When you feel incapable, God can be trusted.

Bottom Line

When you feel incapable, God can be trusted.

After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, the Lord said to Joshua son of Nun, Moses' aide: "Moses my servant is dead. Now then, you and all these people, get ready to cross the Jordan River into the land I am about to give to them, to the Israelites. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you. Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their ancestors to give them. - Joshua 1:1-2, 5-6 NIV
