A Parent's Guide to Meaningful Presents

Christmas is only one week away! I bet you have your tree up and your home is all decorated and if you are anything like me, you are still trying to finish up that Christmas shopping! Those last few gifts to finish up our shopping are sometimes the hardest ones to buy.

As I was doing dishes the other day, Preston and I somehow got on the subject of King David. He was telling me all sorts of details about King David and his life, and I was blown away at all he knew! I asked him where he learned all those details and he said, “I read about it in the Brick Bible mom.” He’s almost 14 so you can just hear the teenage annoyance coming from him. But I was so amazed that something we bought him 5 years ago is still making an impact on him.

So that got me thinking. Maybe this holiday season we could give our kids a gift that will keep on giving. One that will teach them about God’s word and how much He loves us. One that equips them for a life long journey of following Christ. One that won't break. One that they helps them when they are 25 or even 65.

Here are a few of our favorite ideas for you. All of these gifts will also help you in your journey of teaching your kids about Jesus and fostering their relationship with Him. Think of this as your parenting Christmas cheat sheet!
