WMP 1.13.16

Refugees are a large part of our world today. We hear about them on the news daily. We see their struggle to flee their country and find a new place to live.

But do our children know about these groups of people? Do they know what a refugee is? Have they heard of refugee camps?  Do they realize that even though there are differences between the two groups of children, refugee children are still kids like them and there have a lot of things in common too?

Refugees were the focus of our Wednesday afternoon mission programs on January 13. We learned all about what a refugee is and the reality of living in a foreign country. We also learned what countries refugees are fleeing from, and what that must feel like to have to leave quickly and take the bare minimum with you.
