This week in Children’s Chapel we learned about Elijah being fed by the ravens (1 Kings 16:29-17:9). Not familiar with the story? Here are the details:
King Ahab was the king of Israel and he was married to Jezebel. She convinced him to worship two idols, Baal and Asherah. This made God VERY ANGRY. So God sent his prophet, Elijah, to tell King Ahab that there would be a drought in Israel. When the drought started, God took care of Elijah. He told him to go east of the Jordan River to a brook (see if your kids can remember the name of the brook!). Every morning and every night, ravens delivered bread and meat to Elijah. God took care of Elijah and He takes care of us too!
Questions to discuss
1. Can you imagine getting your food from ravens?
2. Do you believe God will provide for you?
