This week we played the classic game terminator, tried two new games, and talked about our upcoming Middle School Lock-in. Check out what we did this week at Sunday Night @ The LOFT.
This is what we did
This is what we talked about
Just to remind you, your child is participating in a three-week Bible study on the concept of stewardship. Most people think of tithing when they hear the word stewardship, but it’s so much more than that. This week we learned that since God created the world everything belongs to Him including all the things we possess as well as our own talents, gifts, and abilities. Since God has blessed us by entrusting us with His resources we are to give back to Him the very best of our possessions and our lives. We even talked about some ways that we are stewards of God's creation.
We looked at the following Scripture passages:
- Psalm 24:1-2
- Genesis 1:28-30
- Genesis 2:15
- Malachi 3:8-12
Please take a few minutes this week to read those passages. I hope that over these next few weeks you and your teenager can have some time to talk about the Bible studies each week. This is an excellent way to not only help you know what your student is learning but also to help reinforce the Bible teaching they are receiving each week.
Next Steps . . .
During the week talk to your student about this week’s Bible study by asking the following questions:
· What did you learn about the concept of stewardship this week?
· Did you find it hard to grasp the idea that everything belongs to God?
· What are some ways you could be a better steward of what God has given you?
I am praying for you and your student during this Bible study on stewardship, specifically praying that you will continue to discover the joy of giving to God.
