Kids who have completed 4th and 5th grades are invited to join us on a mission trip to Washington, DC!
Dates: August 6-11, 2017. We will leave at 1:00 pm on Sunday from the ECC Annex parking lots. Also, we will be commissioned during the last part of the 9:00 service and the first part of the 11:00 service. Please plan to have your child attend during both of those times. This is very important! It is not necessary for them to stay for both entire services, however.
Transportation: Church vans and trailer to and from Washington, DC; vans, metro and/or buses within Washington, DC
Accommodations in Washington, DC: The Washington Seminar Center (See additional information on their website).
Cost: $300 (Scholarships are available; plus, Impact League will do fundraising which will reduce the cost of their trip.)
Included in Cost: Transportation, accommodations, meals (except 2 lunches), sightseeing expenses.
Not Included in Cost: Two lunches, souvenirs, snacks (Occasionally we may stop by an ice cream shop.)
Projects: Our service projects in the D.C. area are not yet finalized, but will most likely include projects with A Wider Circle and serving breakfast to the homeless at Capitol Hill UMC. On one evening, we plan to hear from two former homeless individuals who are part of the speakers’ bureau at the National Coalition for the Homeless.
